Our Story
Cannon By the Sea was born from a simple belief: the things we surround ourselves with — and the gifts we give — should mean something.
What began as a desire to create thoughtful, personal gifts for the people we care about slowly became something deeper. A calling to slow down. To work with intention. To build a life rooted in family, creativity, and connection.
We are Kerri and Sean Cannon — a husband-and-wife team, parents, and lifelong members of the South Shore community. Sean serves as a firefighter locally and is deeply connected to the people and teams that make this community what it is, including his role as a captain in a local men’s hockey league. Working closely with organizations built on trust, teamwork, and service has shaped how we approach our work — with pride, accountability, and care.
Before Cannon By the Sea, Kerri spent years in healthcare leadership, working in the private sector until shortly after the birth of our first child. That season of life brought clarity — and challenge. Stepping away created space to rediscover creativity, to return to making with her hands, and to build something that felt aligned with both passion and purpose. What started as a small creative outlet became a lifeline — and eventually, a business built on intention rather than urgency.
Today, Cannon By the Sea is proudly family-owned and operated from our South Shore workshop. We are raising two young children, Callie and Crew, alongside our chocolate lab, Harper — whose loyal, salt-loving spirit inspired our Salt & Tides Harper design. Family life shapes everything we do: the pace we keep, the choices we make, and the meaning we build into our work.
Our coastal roots are never far from the surface. The shoreline, the seasons, and the quiet moments between busy days remind us that life moves quickly — and that it’s often the smallest, most intentional moments that matter most. We create pieces meant to be part of those moments: used daily, gathered around, gifted with care, and lived with fully.
We value thoughtful design over trends, longevity over shortcuts, and meaning over mass production. Each piece is designed and made with intention, knowing it will become part of someone’s home, story, or celebration.
